Ordering, Contact & Checkout

Greetings from north-central Massachusetts. We ship year-round, FedEx Priority Overnight, most Mondays and Wednesdays to any address in the continental US. Shipping-day exceptions will be posted.

All of our business is online, that is, no storefront. To help with online shopping, a photo accompanies each item for sale. As you can see on the Shop page, most photos show the adult form or adult color of a species. In some cases photos will show the specimen for sale or typical specimen appearance. To purchase, go to the Shop page and add your item(s) to the Cart. Go to the Checkout page to get a shipping quote for your location.

Pay by PayPal, debit or credit card. Please order no more than a week before you would like your item(s) shipped. Within 24 hours we’ll confirm inventory and provide shipping information by email. Rarely, a customer fails to receive our email order confirmation. If you do not receive confirmation within 24 hours, send an inquiry and we’ll reply by both email and text message. Alternatively message us on Instagram (ArachnoEden).

To add to an existing order use the free_shipping2026 coupon code to avoid a second shipping charge. We’ll confirm by email.

For customers in the New England area, pickup is available in the in Leominster, MA, just off Route 2. Use the free_shipping2026 coupon and  contact us for pickup scheduling.

Telephone numbers are collected for FedEx purposes. Occasionally we may need to text you (see email failure above). All standard business correspondence is by email.

Have subadult or mature males you’ve raised but just want females? We’re almost always able to trade for items on the website and sometimes off the website [Contact Us]. If we don’t need him we’ll post him.

General trade and collection offers are also welcome as are questions not answered on this page [Contact Us]. We’re happy to consider posting photos of specimen(s) you’ve received from us.

Shipping, Returns & Live Arrival Guarantee (LAG)

LAG applies to all FedEx Priority Overnight shipments. Required: (1) correct address (no PO boxes or mailroom boxes please) and acceptance upon first delivery attempt; (2) apartment numbers must be supplied or FedEx will not deliver and LAG will be void; (3) problems must be reported within 2 hours of delivery or 3 hours of same-day pickup at a FedEx Ship Center (see next paragraph); (4) photographs of dead specimens with a pin through the carapace must be provided. LAG covers specimen cost or replacement, excluding shipping. Specimens arriving alive but showing poor activity are also covered if they fail to recover; video required. Contact us in the above-mentioned time frames for advice.

Returns are not accepted. However, for existing customers we offer a male-trade-in policy whereupon if you’ve raised a subadult or adult male from one of our unsexed spiderlings we’ll trade for an unsexed spiderling(s) of the same or different species. Contact us for details.

FedEx Ship Center (FSC) Hold at Location-LAG in Winter

We use heat packs during cold weather and have an excellent record shipping at temperatures below 32℉. While it is generally safer to use FSCs, in cold weather the presence of a heat pack means the box should not sit long indoors; live contents may overheat. Particularly in winter, please do not let spiders sit at the FSC more than 2 hours past the time it becomes available. LAG will be void.

Shipping Rates

FEDEX PRIORITY OVERNIGHT: Priority Overnight shipping charge is based on your zip code. Use the Checkout page to obtain an exact shipping quote. FedEx charges are lower to FSCs and business locations. For some customers it makes sense to have packages sent to their place of work. Any heat or cool pack can be removed so the spiders can sit unpacked at room temperature. Let us know, we can adjust the time window you have to report any casualties.

Some orders can be shipped if placed as late as the day before a shipping day. However, better to give us at least a full day so we can make sure everybody’s eating.

Safety

We do not advise handling. Owners who handle put themselves at risk of bites, urticating hairs, allergic reactions and infections.

Bites from New World tarantulas are painful and associated with local inflammation, akin to a wasp sting. Bites from Old World tarantulas may additionally cause neurologic symptoms, sometimes lasting weeks. All tarantula bites have potential to cause more serious symptoms if infection develops or an allergy to venom exists. Fortunately, to date there have been no deaths reported from a tarantula bite.

Many New World tarantulas will upon disturbance flick urticating (itchy) hairs from their rumps. These hairs have potential to land on skin, eyes or be inhaled. Self-limited, local irritation is the most common result, but allergic reaction and infection are possible. Consultation with an ophthalmologist or other medical professional may be needed.

If in doubt about a tarantula-related symptom you may have, seek medical attention.
