Brachypelma emilia spiderlings, captive bred, native to western Mexico. This medium-size, New World terrestrial is slow growing & long lived. Adult females are the cutest, in part because they don’t grow as large B. boehmei, B. hamorii and B. smithi. The dark mask on the carapace is prominent in B. emilia. A good display species, quite hardy and recommended for all levels. Photo shows an adult female.
One of the more popular of the red-legged Brachypelma, Brachypelma emilia has been in the hobby longer than most of its cousins. It has the distinction of being found farther north in western Mexico than any other. The dark, triangular mask on the carapace is distinctive.
