$40.00

C. huahini (Asian fawn tarantula) is an all-brown Thailand fossorial. It emerges from its burrow to execute deadly jump scare attacks on passing prey. Would we keep these if they ate lettuce? C. huahini is an Old World tarantula so keep hands and fingers away. Recommended for keepers with intermediate experience and above. Description

Chilobrachys huahini, found in Thailand’s Hua Hin district, is a fossorial tarantula. Climate in Hua Hin is tropical savanna. A short dry season punctuates a long wet season. As one expects from a Chilobrachys, C. huahini is skittish and defensive. It will burrow in captivity and web both tunnel and surroundings.

C. huahini likes water but not wetness. Keep them over slightly dampened substrate and limit ventilation only enough to allow humidity to build. Our substrate recipe is 1 part water, 10 parts dry substrate. Room temperature (68-72F) is fine. If you use warmer temperatures, consider adding a water dish as dehydration insurance. Juvenile and older specimens are a bit more drought tolerant than spiderlings.
