Description

Listed for sale is a juvenile Pamphobeteus sp. “cascada” female tarantula, captive bred, native to Ecuador. P. sp. “cascada” was found near water; hence its name. A large tarantula, P. sp. “cascada” is remarkable for uniform black in adult females. They’re opportunistic burrowers so you’ll see them under a hide or occasionally on display.

P. sp. “cascada” can be found on the shelves of new and experienced collectors alike. One of the reasons for its popularity may be that the adult female is solid black and the black doesn’t fade as the year progresses.

Because this P. sp. “cascada” female is well-beyond the spiderling stage, it’s fine to keep her on slightly dry substrate, limiting ventilation only enough to allow a bit of humidity to accumulate. Room temperature (68-72F) is fine, although growth will be faster at 80F. A water dish may help her optimize hydration status.

Thus, a large, robust spider with black that doesn’t fade. No question P. sp. “cascada” is one of our favorite black Pamphobeteus no question.

  • slightly dry substrate for juveniles through adults

  • room temperature (68-72F) up to 80F
  • consider a hide, forest litter and plantings for enrichment
