Description
Listed for sale is a juvenile Tliltocatl verdezi female tarantula. Many hobbyists know Tliltocatl verdezi, the Mexican rose grey tarantula. This medium-size tarantula is similar overall to T. vagans, the Mexican red rump, but with a pale brown carapace, sometimes coupled with a triangular mask over the eyes.
The Mexican rose grey lives in forested and dry scrub habitat in southwestern Mexico, along the Pacific coast. Thus, it is relatively drought tolerant. T. verdezi can dig, but you may find this opportunistic burrower on display more often than not.
One can find T. verdezi on the shelves of new and experienced collectors alike. T. verdezi juveniles and older do well on slightly dry substrate, limiting ventilation only enough to allow a bit of humidity to accumulate. Room temperature (68-72F) is fine, although growth will be faster at 80F. A water dish may allow your pet to optimize hydration and also, avoid unintentional desiccation due to faster evaporation in a warmer enclosure.
